[indie-folk] Blind Pilot – We Are The Tide

Blind Pilot is an indie folk band based out of Portland, Oregon. The band recently released their 2nd full-length album, “We Are The Tide” in September and we’ve been listening it for sometime now.

If you’re looking for something to listen to while you’re stuck at home with all the rain that’s pouring down due to the monsoon season, this should be in your playlist.

Good mix, nice acoustics and beautiful crafted lyrics.

Their first track from the album titled, “Half Moon” is a great introduction to the band for first time listeners. (Track embedded below)

Its been a while since I’ve last did a Discover! post, so pardon me if I’m a little rusty.

Today’s Discover! is an artist from Minnesota, who calls himself Astronautalis.

He has been described as “if Beck were a decade or so younger and had grown up more heavily immersed in hip-hop,” with his rapping style noted for “blending styles of indie rock, electro, and talkin’ blues” with hip-hop. He has described himself as “historical fiction hip-hop.”

We haven’t heard much from her other than some sporadic video updates and covers on her youtube page. Old but short-lived local pop group, The Black Sun. I haven’t been into music back in the heydays of the band but from what I heard, they were pretty rocking.
